Los Angeles mayoral candidate and Councilmember Nithya Raman delivered a speech in downtown LA Sunday, outlining what her first 100 days would look like if she’s elected mayor.

The event, which was scheduled for 5:30 p.m., was livestreamed on the councilmember’s Instagram.

Raman finished second to incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the June primary, setting up the high-stakes November runoff.

The councilmember’s speech comes just one day before county election officials have to begin mailing each registered voter a vote-by-mail ballot. All counties will begin opening ballot drop-off locations for vote-by-mail ballots on Tuesday.

Bass and Raman to meet in mayoral election debate on Oct. 13

Bass and Raman are scheduled to meet in a live one-hour and commercial-free mayoral debate, hosted by NBC Los Angeles and Telemundo 52 on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. The debate will focus on topics shaping the future the city, including public safety, homelessness, housing and economic development ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.

The debate is in partnership with Loyola Marymount University. NBC4 News anchor Colleen Williams, NBC4 Chief Political Reporter Conan Nolan and Noticiero Telemundo 52 anchor Alejandra Ortiz will moderate.

In addition to being available on the broadcast channels, the live event will stream on nbcla.com, telemundo52.com, on the free NBCLA and Telemundo 52 mobile apps and on the stations’ free 24/7 local news streaming channels, NBC Los Angeles News and Noticias Telemundo California, which are accessible on Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Samsung TV Plus.
